FAQ:
How many interns do you have each year?: This depends on the needs of each department and varies year to year.
Are interns assigned to a specific department?:
Usually our interns work with a specific department, however, we work in a collaborative environment and field, so interns in a specific department will occasionally be asked to help with other departments. Occasionally we hire a floating intern who will be assigned projects from all departments on an as-needed basis.
Are internships full-time or part-time?: This depends on the type of internship and the availability of the intern.
Do you offer any kind of housing or stipends for year-long interns?:
We do not provide housing and rarely provide any financial compensation. We are aware that in order to work in theatre one often needs to make a living elsewhere. We try our best to accommodate outside work schedules. Depending on the Gamm Studio schedule, interns can sometimes take classes at the Gamm or attend shows gratis.
Is there availability for interns to work in the box office or do other part-time jobs at the Gamm for pay?: Paid positions are subject to availability. Seasonal paid work might include working the concession stand, assistant stage managing, or doing direct-sales. Interns are not given preferential treatment in applying for these positions. |
