THE SPACES IN BETWEEN GOOD & BAD
moderated by Rabbi Sarah Mack with Director Tony Estrella & the cast of Bad Jews
Sunday, March 12 following the matinee performance of Joshua Harmon's Bad Jews (approx. 3:45 pm)
This discussion aims to enhance the theater’s upcoming production of Bad Jews. This dark and often uproarious comedy explores serious themes about the obligations and limitations of identity, and the lack of consensus about who or what constitutes "good" or "bad." At a time of rising antisemitism, this play examines the meaning of Jewish identity in our times. Within any religion or culture, can one’s debt to the past and aspirations for the future comfortably coexist?
This event is open to the public at no charge. Show attendance is encouraged but not required.
Rabbi Sarah Mack is the Senior Rabbi of Temple Beth-El on Providence’s East Side. She has served Temple Beth-El since 2003. Rabbi Mack is the immediate past president of the Board of Rabbis of Greater Rhode Island.
Bad Jews— the acting was superb. The play was intense and thought provoking.
